Fibonacci Spiral Clock, 220 mm Wall or Desk Clock, Two-Colour Dial, No Supports

A 220 mm wall or desk clock with a golden-ratio Fibonacci spiral dial: raised charcoal spiral squares and arcs on an ivory base. No supports needed, and every part fits a 220 mm bed.

Two-colour dial in ivory and charcoal with just one filament change: pause at Z 3.2 mm (one extruder, M600), or use the included 2-colour 3MF for AMS or MMU printers.

Hang it on the wall from two keyholes 126 mm apart, or stand it on a desk in two printed feet that lean it back 15 degrees.

Hand fit: hour holes on these movements run 4.9 to 5.5 mm and minute holes 3.0 to 3.6 mm. The hands are designed at 5.10 mm (hour) and 3.20 mm (minute). If your movement needs a different size, scale the hand holes in your slicer.

Assembly:

1. Print the coupon first and confirm the hand-hole fit.
2. Print the dial with the colour change at Z 3.2: everything from 3.0 mm up is charcoal.
3. Fit the movement from the back of the dial: rubber gasket on the shaft, through the 8.4 mm hole, then brass washer and brass nut on the front. Finger-tight plus 1/8 turn; over-tightening slows the movement.
4. Set the movement to 12:00. Press on the hour hand pointing at 12, then the minute hand at 12. Keep them parallel with about 1 mm air between them. Add the second hand or cap if used.
5. Put the AA battery in the movement.
6. Drop the dial into the case so it sits on the 4 corner posts with the face flush with the rim. Drive the 4 M3x10 countersunk screws into the posts. Snug only: PLA pilots strip if over-torqued.
7. Wall: two screws 126 mm apart, level, heads standing out about 3 mm. Hang through the keyholes (the 9 mm hole, then slide down). Desk: stand the case's bottom edge in both feet, about 60 mm either side of centre. The clock leans back 15 degrees.
8. Set the time with the wheel on the back of the movement, through the 72 mm battery window.
