About this design
A compact two-piece PETG case for the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W in two versions: a plain low-profile case, and a taller case with the Raspberry Pi AI Camera mounted in the lid.
Designed in SolidCraft from the official Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W mechanical drawing and the AI Camera product brief. Board outline, mounting holes and connector positions follow the drawing. Raspberry Pi doesn't publish the connector body sizes, so the cutout sizes for mini HDMI, the two micro USB ports, microSD and the camera connector are my estimates. The CAD interference checks between the case and the board and camera reference models came out clean.
Version A: plain case
- Outer size: 69.2 x 34.2mm, 14.6mm tall with the lid on (13mm base + 1.6mm lid plate)
- Snap-fit lid: a 3mm deep lip with 0.2mm fit gap and small snap bumps that click into windows in the base. No screws needed for the lid.
- Two lids included: a vented lid (5 slots), and a lid with a 52 x 5.6mm slot for a GPIO header or ribbon cable
- Openings for mini HDMI, micro USB OTG and micro USB power on the front, and microSD on the left side
- 4 standoffs on the board's 58 x 23mm mounting pattern, with 2.2mm pilot holes for M2.5 screws
- Approximate PETG mass: 14.4g (base 9.08g + vented lid 5.30g), or 13.8g with the GPIO lid
Version B: AI Camera lid
- Same footprint and ports as Version A, with a taller 21mm base (22.6mm total height)
- The lid has a 6.5mm lens opening and 4 bosses on the camera's 21 x 12.5mm hole pattern, with 1.8mm blind pilot holes for M2 screws
- Room inside for the camera ribbon to fold
- Approximate PETG mass: 17.7g (base 12.26g + lid 5.46g)
- Camera cable: the Zero uses the 22-pin (0.5mm pitch) camera connector, so you need the Zero-type camera cable (22-pin to 15-pin). Check that you have the right cable before printing.
Masses are from CAD at 1.27 g/cm3, 100% solid. Actual filament use depends on your slicer settings.

Planned for the full set
This is part of a planned family of Raspberry Pi cases, all modeled from the official Raspberry Pi mechanical drawings. Planned boards and configurations are below. No release dates yet; each will be added as it's designed and test printed.
Boards:
- Raspberry Pi 5 (available now in my shop)
- Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W (this listing)
- Raspberry Pi 4 Model B
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and 3 Model B+
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+
- Raspberry Pi Zero and Zero W
- Raspberry Pi 400 accessories (stand and wall mount)
Configurations (where the board supports them):
- Plain cases in low profile and tall versions
- Fan and heatsink versions, including the official Raspberry Pi 5 Active Cooler
- PoE / PoE+ HAT clearance (Pi 3B+, Pi 4B and Pi 5)
- NVMe M.2 HAT+ clearance (Pi 5)
- AI HAT+ and AI Kit clearance (Pi 5)
- Camera lids for Camera Module 3 and the AI Camera
- Sense HAT and generic HAT stack cases
- Official 7 inch Touch Display enclosure
- DIN rail, VESA and wall mount adapters
- Multi-board cluster stack
Print notes
- Material: PETG - Layer height: 0.16 to 0.2mm (0.16mm for cleaner snap bumps and lid lip) - Walls: 3 perimeters - Infill: 20% - Supports: none planned. Print the base upright (floor down) and the lids upside down (top plate on the bed). The base already has a 0.4mm elephant's foot chamfer on the bottom edge. - Fit: the lid has a 0.2mm fit gap. If the snap is too tight, lower the flow slightly. If it's too loose, try a 0.16mm layer height for crisper bumps. - Hardware: 4 M2.5 screws for the board, plus 4 M2 screws for the AI Camera (Version B). Check the screw lengths against your parts.
